A Top Bio
A very thick bio of a fascinating man. This author took 5 years to write the book and had the approval of Chatwin's wife who was generous but hands off about the result. Not a vanity piece but a tapestry of the life and times of a true British eccentric adventurer. He loved to talk and without quoting long bits of dialogue, Shakespeare gives the sense of what it was like to be enthralled as well as frustrated by Chatwin. This is the best biography of anyone I have read in a long time.
