VG+/VG-. 8vo. original blue cloth gilt (occ. spotting, mostly to leaf edges & first/last pages, otherwise the cloth is bright and for the most part clean internally) in original white pictorial dustwrapper (generally discoloured with grubby marks, edges rubbed & little frayed with small loss at spine ends, else complete); pp. 236, with 12 plates. A very good copy in the uncommon dustwrapper. [Neate B09: Baker was a contemporary of the Abraham brothers with whom he climbed on occasions. He was also one of the party who made the first ascent of the Ben Nuis Chimney on Arran in 1901, a route not repeated for over fifty years].
