This book is great! Now to find the movies.
This well-written and entertaining book, by an NYU anthropologist, not a film studies person, gives you the context and understanding you need to start going out and seeing Bollywood movies which are, it's safe to say, a hoot. There are brief thumbnails of important films, actors, directors, making it a thing of ease to select a movie you want to see. The hard part is locating the movie, but when I find a recommended movie, I'm in for two or three hours of very high-level entertainment. Love it.
