Over many years, Paul Blair collected stories he heard from his friend Bob Higgins because they were highly unusual and very entertaining. Bob Higgins, in fact, is a very unusual and highly entertaining individual. Bob left home at a very early age, was educated at the School of Hard Knocks on the streets of Oakland, California. He obviously never graduated from high school, but that didn't stop Bob. He became addicted to fast cars and somehow barely escaped many car episodes with his life. Unfortunately, his luck ran out on a construction site. He was involved in an accident that cost him the four fingers on his right hand. Bob was right-handed. The accident changed his life, and looking back, it may have been one of the best things that happened to Bob. No longer able to hold a construction job, he obtained a GED high school diploma and enrolled in the local community college. He soon learned that he was dyslexic and had a serious learning problem. After years of enormous effort he could barely obtain passing grades. Somehow he overcame his learning disability and went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Mathematics. Perhaps, you, or someone you know, is struggling to get good grades in college. Read this book and find out how he did it despite his Dyslexia barrier. That's not the end of the story for Bob. He went on to a very exciting career as a sub-contractor for the CIA, and after retirement he became a college professor. Did I mention that despite having no fingers left on his right hand, he was one of the top competitive slalom water skiers in the United States. All of his stories, and there are many, are true. I believe you will find them both entertaining and informative. It's an easy read and is a great Christmas gift.
