Other high-profile cuts include Jackie Brenston's "Rocket 88" (considered by many to be the first rock & roll song) and Roscoe Gordon's "I Found a New Love," as well as numbers by one-time Memphis DJ B.B. King ("B.B. Blues") and one-time Memphis resident Howlin' Wolf ("My Baby Walked Off"). Along the lines of Wolf's electric, Chicago blues sound, there's also James Cotton's "Cotton Crop Blues," Joe Hill Louis' "When I Am Gone (Treat Me Mean and Evil)," and Pat Hare's apparently true-to-life number "I'm Gonna Murder My Baby." And with the inclusion of Doctor Ross' "Terra Mae" and Sleepy John Estes' "Runnin' Around," country-blues also gets its due. The set is rounded out by fine instrumentals from Jimmy & Walter and Johnny London (aka Alto Wizard) and with an excellent gospel number by the Southern Jubilee Singers.
