Most of the music is boppish and straight-ahead (including Nark's workout on "Billie's Bounce," Vax's version of Shorty Rogers' "Short Stop," and Montgomery's "San Miguel") along with a few departures, including Brecker's fusion-ish "Guaruja," some Dixieland from Clark ("Struttin' With Some BBQ"), and the big band swing of Spera's "Rockin' Chair."
