Because of the attempts to stop her, she and the political figure must fall back on Plan B... which is a vague 'we go South' sort of plan. How is she going to pull this one off? After all there was only supposed to be a 600-mile area she had to traverse with trusted contacts to get them to the pickup spot. So where is she? Kai wryly notes that there is a 3000-mile corridor between retrieval and safety! And, somehow, the 'Wild Child' of nature must get them through it. You'd think in the year 2114 there would be easier ways to get one's job done.
