My father-in-law was akso a WOP/Gunner on Blenheims during the same period and survived to become a captain odf a Sunderland. He never mentioned what really happened but always said he was one of the lucky ones. This book takes you back tot he early days of WWII and really makes you understand the crazy odds of survival, the role of luck and skill and the feelings of the very young and generally inexperienced crews .
