Drawing inspiration from Robbie Shilliam's cosmologically related 'hinterlands' as an antidote to the nature of colonial (Eurocentric) epistemologies, the author uses the polemical chapters as gateways to theoretical discussion about the material effects of whiteness felt on the ground.
