"Cleanliness is next to Godliness"- the essence of this was aptly captured by Dravidians, who in 5000 BC gave due emphasis to immaculate town planning, safe and effective sewerage systems who got rid of all solid and liquid wastes generated by the population. Medical wastes pose a significant impact on health and the environment. Management of the bio medical waste is becoming a challenging issue in India. Proper waste management strategy is needed to ensure health and environmental safety.
