Like having your own therapist
I loved reading this book! It feels like Ms. Beattie is sitting next to you listening to your heart and reading your mind. The activities at the end of each chapter help reinforce the lessons and give you the courage to test new waters. It is very easy to read but not at all simplistic. I experienced many "lightbulb" moments which helped me clarify issues I have been dealing with for years. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been struggling with codependency. It is a book you can return to over and over as you need to strengthen motivation or renew hope that life does indeed get better if you continue to work at it (just like anything else that is worthwhile).
