Working from a garden shed in his back garden in Dundee, Scottish amateur Sandy Kidd devised a machine which defies Newton's third law of physics and which could revolutionize space travel. Scorned by the British scientific establishment, he had to take his machine - the gyroscope - to Australia and the USA to get the funding to develop his invention, which could make possible weekend trips to Mars. This personal account of the former RAF radar technician tells of his struggles, disappointments and triumphs.
