If you have grown up with Betsy from her childhood escapades to her high school graduation, you will appreciate the young woman she becomes in her travels. However, the book easily stands alone. Having traveled in Europe, it brought back many memories and yet remained true to a pre WWI time. I have already given this book to several young women who toured Europe. Not only does it entertain, but it teaches history while giving moral warnings, setting a high standard for a young woman's behavior.
