This work was written when there was a lot of interest in the lives of the indigenous people. Illustrated throughout. Edited by James Sanks Brisbin, an American educator, lawyer and soldier. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the spine and boards. Externally, generally smart with small patches of staining to the rear board. Some minor rubbing to the boards and extremities. Prior owner's signature to the recto of front endpaper, 'To John A Campbell from his Brother January 9th 1871'. Campbell's signature is to the title page and the signature of H J Godwin is to the recto of front endpaper. Bibliographical information of this text tipped in to recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges and generally clean throughout Very Good.
