Remastered from analog masters to digital, this historic recording does Shaw and the orchestra justice, though its belated appearance at a time when hybrid SACDs and audio Blu-rays dominate the market makes it a specialty item. Casual listeners may have few problems with the sound quality, which is adequate for a live recording of its vintage, though audiophiles will notice the fairly shallow sound of the orchestra and several instances of audience noise.
