Our children are under attack. We live in a world now where technology is a priority, trumps human interaction and understanding. When these issues go unchecked, they can make children vulnerable to things like bullying and suicide. As a young girl, I grew up dealing with these things and feeling alone. I tried talking to my parents, but I just couldn't get them to take me seriously. So I spent a great deal of my young life, avoiding mirrors, avoiding my friends and being out in public, hiding from my whole life because I was haunted by unhealthy thoughts that I was less than what I was. I struggled for a while to find my identity, understand who I was and what was my purpose, but often times I found myself hiding again. Finding a creative outlet for me to express myself saved me from living a life suffocated by my own thoughts and criticisms. That creative outlet helped me to be able to talk to my familyI vowed, as I grew older and worked through my issues, that I would help another family do the same. This is a workbook designed to bridge the gap in between children struggling with lack of self esteem and self confidence, and parents yearning to understand and help. With engaging activities and discussion, parents and children can strengthen their bond and grow closer together. This is about helping to identify underlying issues and address them through dialogue and creative expression. Having low self esteem and confidence is terrible, but it's even worse when you have to do it alone. Stronger families, lead to stronger children, strong children lead to stronger communities. This workbook, is a step in the right direction.
