Hughston Lowder, with the first paragraph of the Prologue had me sucked into this book. This is phenomenally written book takes the reader from tourist to torpedoman as Hughston relives his days in the navy and takes you with him. It's a great look into the world that most people have never seen or thought about before, and for me, it was a refreshingly smart look at the way things were done back then. READ THIS BOOK!
