He is now a professor of the Shanghai Institute of Physical Culture, a member of the Wushu Association of China, vice-chairman of the Shanghai Wushu Association, and an International Wushu Federation judge. He has served as general chief judge at national and world Wushu competitions, and has given many lectures in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and other places. Qiu Pixiang has written more than a dozen books on Wushu, such as Gateway to Wushu, Qingping Sword, Cudgel Play and Spear Play, and has published nearly thirty essays, some of which were presented at international sports events such as the Olympic Games and the Asian Games. He also participated in compiling Wushu textbooks, which won the special-class prize by the State Education Commission, and he was awarded the special government allowance issued by the State Council for his outstanding contribution to higher education.
