The Barbie Party Cookbook was published in 1993 by Price Stern Sloan, as a companion book to the 12 Barbie paperback novels that PSS had published at the time. Barbie Bazaar did an article in 1993 about the PSS books, and its author mentioned that she had talked to several young girls and their mothers who agreed that it was the best children's cookbook they had ever found. The recipes are simple and contemporary, divided by holidays or other yearly events; in other words, you could find recipes for Christmas, but you could also find recipes and other entertainment tips for slumber parties.
