Loved the fantastic photos - many full page and some double page. Includes photos of the current property and photos from the past. Cannot decide if I like the new or old ones the best. Almost every page includes at least one photo. Each photo includes a written description.
The back of book includes an index and an extensive notes section which lists the references.
The photos alone tell an amazing story; however, the writing is exceptional by architectural historian, Kevin Mulligan. Is it a great coffee table book or history book?
The preface includes a quote from Lady Kildare, 1759:
"Yesterday, I saw a most delightful place indeed, much beyond any place I have seen in Ireland - Ballyfin." I agree with this Lady whoever she was.
