Seller's Description:
Kay Ambrose. Near Fine in Very Good jacket. The first edition of this indispensable reference book on Polish ballet. Uncommon with the dustwrapper.  This work is a collection of poetry, beauty and information. It was published to accompany a Gala performance in aid of the Polish Relief Fund. The Programme of the Gala is to the rear of the dustwrapper.  From the library of Joan Hewson, the Renowned Cecchetti School of Dance Instructor. Joan left a legacy of numerous successful professional dancers from across the world. She was greatly appreciated by her students, as is evident from the many gifts that form her library. Joan's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, dated May 1940. In the publisher's original cloth binding. With unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, in an excellent condition with just some minor shelfwear to the head of spine. Dustwrapper is very smart with chipping to the head of wraps, resulting in loss. Small loss to the bottom of front wrap. Prior owner's inscription 'Joan Hewson' to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spots to the first and last few pages, otherwise pages are clean. Near Fine.
