Seller's Description:
Fine in very good jacket. Hardcover. The revised and updated edition of the original 1990 publication. Fine in very good dust jacket, modest wear at the spine extremities. 175 pp. plus index. Illustrated throughout with black and white and color photographs. Formed as BEW in 1916, BMW itself began motorcycling work by supplying engines for other machines but soon developed its successful R32 based on its classic flat-twin boxer engine. The author charts the complete story behind the pattern of BMW production from the single cylinder machines, the company's considerable racing and competition success, the reappearance if the twin in 1949 production and the 1969 change with the new /5 series. Also covered is the revolution in 1983 of the four-cylinder water cooled engine that would power the K-series.
