Desde entonces, la caracterizaci???n de nuevos fenotipos cl???nicos y el descubrimiento de mutaciones en los genes responsables de los mismos ha permitido descubrir otras enfermedades autoinflamatorias y definir mejor algunas ya conocidas, a las que se les ha atribuido una causa polig???nica . Paralelamente, el mayor conocimiento de las prote???nas generadas por estas alteraciones gen???ticas ha posibilitado el empleo de f???rmacos que bloquean mol???culas clave en el proceso inflamatorio. Con ello se ha logrado controlar la actividad de estas enfermedades, hasta ahora dif???ciles de tratar, lo que ha cambiado radicalmente la calidad y esperanza de vida de los pacientes afectados.
