The employment rate is low among adults with autism, although many are high functioning. Many of those adults will require understanding and perhaps simple modifications to become successful and important team members. Employers and co-workers may have the responsibility of hiring, training, and retaining employees with certain skills. Others will have a different challenge working side by side with a person who may think differently and act differently than you do. To have a successful work environment, both of those roles carry a heavy responsibility, understanding of a different perspective, and a loving spirit.
