Printed/pictorial dj; spine and edges lightly toned/dusted, else good. At dawn, Aug 19, 1942, Operation Jubilee was launched: the British landing at Dieppe, France. The raid was disasterous: 6, 000 British troops landed, but less 2, 000 were evacuted. The raid at Dieppe has been rationalized as the testing ground for the Normandy invasion in 1944.

Textblock is tight, tanned from age; unmarked, except for PO's sig on blank page at front. Illustrated and unclipped DJ ($3.50) has 1" closed tear at bottom of front panel; chipping at top of spine and a little loss at front corners. This is the first USA edition.
