The minutes of the 1916 meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer's report was read and approved. The President explained, for the benefit of the new members, the purchase by the Association of several pieces of fine old lace belonging to the Sweet Briar estate. Mrs. Mccall, a relative of Mrs. Williams, had been selling the lace for the benefit of the Endowment Fund. The Association, there fore, had decided to buy what was left of the lace, in order to serve the double purpose of adding to the Endowment Fund and keeping some of the lace in the possession of the college. The question of the disposition of the lace was discussed. Miss Banister moved that a committee be appointed to see that the lace was cleaned, mended and mounted, and sent to Sweet Briar for exhibition. The motion was ap proved.
