Edited by Barbara J. Hemphill-Pearson, this comprehensive resource boasts 22 chapters divided into nine sections. This text’s introduction presents the integrative process–the structure for assessing clients in mental health. Subsequent chapters address the interviewing process and include Client-Centered Assessment, The Occupational Performance History Interview, and Role Change Assessment for older adults. Five sections provide a thorough review of functional assessments, as well as assessments based on analytical theory, the model of human occupation, skill acquisitional theory, and biological theory. The assessments included in this book were chosen by OT faculty as the most important to the field in a survey conducted by the editor. Several chapters were written by the original assessment developers themselves.
