for those who were contemporaries of edmund white this book reviews some important people in the arts during the late last century...and a few from the early 20th century.. the writing moves along quickly but informative....of course some essays or letters are better written than others but for me most important was to be in contact once again with artist whose names were important but most of whom have now faded into the background ,eclipsed by a totally different perspective of life...it was as if one suddenly came upon a group of old friends...
