Seller's Description:
16mo. Stiff red wrappers. 80pp. Very good. Faintest of wear to outer wrappers (only). A tight and quite nice little oddball edition of this 1863 folksy humor classic by one of Lincoln's favorite humorists. "Modern Series No. 2, " this scarce edition was published by the popular socialist newspaper that ran from 1895 until 1917, when Emanuel Haldeman-Julius (of "Little Blue Book" fame) purchased it and changed the name to "New Appeal, " operating until 1922, when it became the "Haldeman-Julius Weekly"--thus dating this undated pamphlet to sometime in the teens. Very uncommon thus.
