Although I have many books explaining and delineating the Art Nouveau movement, I chose this stately volume to give as a gift. The author choose wisely to present only a few images on a page but does so in a stunning layout that not only draws the eye but forces the reader to make a close observation of lines and color harmonies. The text is explanatory but unclluttered by art-talk jargon. Yes, this is a coffee table book but one that will actually be read and referred to again and again.
