good basic book
I am a new art student and this book is required in a class. It is a good fundamental book. It covers many different styles and has a lot of examples by famous artists within each discipline. Good book for a low Alibris price.

The Best Book for Artists
This is the most comprehensive book for artists. I have purchased copies for my adult art students, and I have used the principles for my students who are children. The principles are direct and well written. I recommend every artist own a copy of this book.
