Peace at last!
This book has done the almost impossible - helped me find a way to calm my chattering mind. The author's description of scripture not as an end, but as a doorway to the presence of God, makes lectio divina come to life. Remember the St. Augustine quote "restless until we rest in Thee?" Thanks to Mark E. Thibodeaux, S.J., now we can rest. Bless you as you read this joyful book.

Removes the intimidation of contemplative prayer
What a wonderful book! Each chapter spoke to my heart. The book made contempative prayer easy to understand, but did not water it down at all. I was also impressed that I found it easy to understand (as I am not a Catholic). Though the author is Catholic, I didn't see anything in the book that a Protestant should find offensive. This is a book that will help your prayer life and draw you closer to God.
