The author and his team determined three new genera, Pseudocodon, Himalacodon and Pankycodon, and merged two genera, Campanumoea and Leptocodon, into Codonopsis. In addition to the five new taxa published in this volume, eight other new species (one in Ilex, seven in Codonopsis) are described.
