Immediately following Hurricane Hilda, laboratory personnel and the crew of the M/V Gus III helped members of Texas a&m University's Department of Meteorology and Oceanography to measure temperatures and salinities. Analysis of these measurements is shedding new light on the changes that occur in the sea as a tropical storm passes. Members of three universities used our salt-water systems for various experiments, and three other institutions were provided specimen collections.
