Exasperated, Rebecca agrees to his suggestion. Just as the words left her mouth, three angels appear and begin fixing the car. An excited Joshua describes their work. When the angels finish, Rebecca turns the ignition key and the car comes alive. The experience makes her more open to Joshua stories. With his mother's encouragement, Joshua gains the confidence to talk about the angels' names and angelic encounters. Nicknaming her son "The Angel Detector," Rebecca wonders if other adults had similar experiences with him. She asks Joshua's teacher Miss Cassandra, as well as the bus driver Mr. Jamison. However, both say that Joshua is a well-behaved student who enjoys reading books. They haven't heard him talk about angels.
