In an age-toned and slightly edgeworn publisher's printed paper wraparound 'belly band' which includes a brief author bio on the inner flap. Covers slightly rubbed and edgeworn, especially lower tips. Very light stain to lower margin of one page. Otherwise, a very good copy-clean, bright and unmarked-of the Writer's Workshop cloth hardbound, not to be confused with the less expensive (and more common) cloth-covered 'flexibound' edition. ~JJJ~ Drama based on the life and assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. He has been called 'India's first authentic voice in the theatre. ' Writers Workshop is a Calcutta, India based literary publisher founded by the poet-professor Purushottama Lal (1929-2010) in 1958. Over the next few decades it published many new authors of post-independence urban literature. Many of these authors later became important literary figures.
