Gilgamesh, Gilgames, often given the epithet of the King, also known as Bilgames in the earliest Sumerian texts, was the fifth king of Uruk, modern day Iraq, Early Dynastic II, first dynasty of Uruk, placing his reign ca. 2500 BC.
