an interesting & well-written introduction
Maritain's introduction to philosophy is well-written and profoundly informative. He writes from the Thomistic perspective, which leads him to emphasize ontology more heavily than epistemology. This is refreshing in a literature that is awash in epistemic-centered studies (helpful as that approach may be).
