This book is loaded with beautiful color illustrations and has great information on materials and techniques, but was missing specific "step-by-step" instruction on how to "build" my painting. I had hoped for more of a pictoral tutorial to walk me through painting a particular project from beginning to end. This book is definitely a keeper as far as reference material, however I did not consider it a "beginners" primer.
