Excerpt: ...of the purchasers were assigned lots in the following proportions: --' Purchasers of 10,000 acres were 'to have six lots, 102 feet broad; three extending from Delaware Front to Delaware Fourth Streets, and three from Schuylkill Front to Schuylkill Fourth. Purchasers of 5000 acres were to_have one lot on the Front Street (either on Delaware or Schuylkill) 102 feet in breadth and extending to Second Street. Also one lot on High Street 132 feet in breadth and about 300 feet in depth. Purchasers of amounts between 1000 and 5000 acres were to have lots on the Front Street (either on Delaware or Schuylkill) extending back one square, and of a breadth of 20 feet for every thousand acres purchased; and some a lot on High Street 52 feet in breadth for every thousand acres purchased, and extending half-way back-to the next street.2 The front lots were all laid out of a breadth of_1o2 feet, and were, in some cases, allotted to several persons whose aggregate purchase made up 5000' acres.
