a Hidden Gem
This is a great--and I don't use "great" often--book by a moderately known master of the story. The title story makes the whole worthwhile, but "The NRACP" as well as the other stories in the collection are moving, well-structured, and beautifully written. "NRACP" is, on re-reading, scarily prescient about the way we behave as human beings.
I bought this copy to use for writing about "The NRACP," using it in a book I have coming out from Macmillan this year and not wanting to damage the binding on the original signed copy that I own.
There is no greater pleasure than a good collection for me, and I think anyone would enjoy reading and re-reading this one.
