A superb association copy, signed and inscribed by noted Japanese-American journalist and activist Togo Tanaka and his wife Jean to noted American poet, Quaker, and WWII conscientious objector William Matchett and his wife Judy (on the occasion of their wedding). Togo Tanaka's journal provides the basis of much of Chapter VI of this work, dealing with the situation in Los Angeles before relocation, and then circumstances and events at Manzanar. Water staining to the at the bottom of the boards(but does not affect the text), else a Good First Edition hardcover in original jacket (jacket has fading and wear with nicks to edges).
