A scarce title in the first state. *OCLC* notes the copy at Yale. "One of about 10 copies with p. 294-296 in incorrect order; all other copies of the first edition corrected by cancellation per D. C. Gallup" [per catalogue entry for Yale University, discussing their copy of the first state]. In this copy there are pencil notations by bibliographer Donald Gallup, the editor of this title, discussing this first state of the book: "one of 2 copies w/ error in index: 293, 296, 295, 294 [initialled] dcg/" In a slightly later hand Gallup adds the following pencil note] "mailed to me 31 oct 79/ discovered several more copies (6? ) mailed to me later. dcg". Presumably rare.
