From 1956 on, clarinetist Albert Nicholas made his home in Europe. He only recorded in the U.S. again during a 1959 visit, which resulted in a pair of Delmark releases. This particular set matches Nicholas with pianist Art Hodes' band, which at the time included trumpeter Nappy Trottier, trombonist Floyd O'Brien and the then-unknown guitarist Marty Grosz.
