This was my first Richard Laymon book and I dare say it will certainly be my last. The scenarios were entirely unrealistic and there was no one character I could identify with. The main character was without depth: a totally flat character with no identifiable character traits except that of the psychopathic. The fact that the book was written from the first person perspective limits the reader's perspective since all we are left with is the villainess's thoughts, motive and point of view.

A Big Yawn
Having read and enjoyed "Bite," I decided to try another Layman novel. This one was tedious. I struggled through three chapters, then gave it up as a waste of time and money. Just couldn't find a single person in the story to like. The lead female came across as a hateful psychopath and a real sociopath. When I get a "craving" to hear about despicable people, I watch tv news where it's all contained in a mercifully short sound-bite.
