The heart of the affirmative action policy is, after all, an attempt toward fairness. One of the pillars which supports America's claim toward greatness is the idea that all of its citizens should have a fair chance. Action is surely required to realise this dream, but which action? It is the author's intention that the papers in this volume will present a useful review of this crucial issue.
