'Why spend time reading fiction when we could read the Bible?' But that ignores the fact that there are many different kinds of literature found in the Bible. Some would consider Apocalyptic writing a close cousin to Fantasy. The parables told by Jesus don't describe historical people or events, and yet they are true. Fantasy books such as "The Chronicles of Narnia" are not only entertaining, but may provide deeper insight into who God is and what faith looks like, outside of a stricty biblical context."--
