La llamada terapia fotodin???mica, usando agentes fotosensibilizadores de naturaleza semi-conductora y con tama???o nanom???trico, est??? siendo explorada actualmente por su particular efecto fotot???xico, en diversos sistemas biol???gicos. La fotocat???lisis con TiO2 es una opci???n viable para el tratamiento alternativo del c???ncer debido a que presenta una alta citotoxicidad, en presencia de sistemas cancer???genos, cuando se le hace incidir radiaci???n UVA. Por esta raz???n es necesario evaluar la influencia del tama???o, estructura y concentraci???n de las nanopart???culas de TiO2 sobre su efecto fotot???xico, esto para entender mejor los mecanismos de toxicidad involucrados y poder abordar el tema de tratamiento contra el c???ncer utilizando fotocat???lisis heterog???nea.
