This vivid history of New Zealand, by the late Professor Keith Sinclair of the University of Auckland's history department, has long been regarded as a classic, one of the most authoritative studies of this country's history. This updated version has been brought up-to-date by Raewyn Dalziel, Professor of History at the University of Auckland (and Sinclair's widow). Seller's Description:
Fair in Missing jacket. Hardbound without dust jacket, Oxford, 1961. Former owner's stamping on front free endpaper, else no markings noted. Label removed from spine, resulting in a patch of the top layer of the spine cover being missing. No text markings noted, mild wear to text block.
It's a bit out of date (1980), but reading the news now, it seems the political history, at least, has not changed much. The beginnings of the Maoris and early settlers are way more interesting than the in-fighting that came later.
