Very Good (Minus). No Jacket. 16mo-over 5¾"-6¾" tall. Daunt (1807-1894) was a friend and supporter of Daniel O'Connell; he wrote six novels set in Dublin. This history was first published by Duffy in 1845. Uncommon, with only the British Library holding a copy in the UK. This is a Very Good (minus) copy of a Later Printing, intended for the Irish diaspora in America. Brown cloth binding with nice decorative stamping on both covers including ruling and a coat-of-arms featuring a harp, stag, and round tower. Gilt titling on the spine. Clean text; 158 pages, with two pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Contemporary (1866) pencil signatures on the rear paste-down and the second free endpaper; another signature (1886) on the front paste-down and the FFEP. The corners have bumps and there are chips to the head and foot of the spine.
